1968is a cozy, oversized cardigan with a boxy shape and wide sleeves, perfect for layering over shirts and dresses on those cold spring and summer evenings. It’s the kind of piece that feels both nostalgic and modern, with cozy oversized sleeves and thoughtful details that make it a standout staple.
The cardigan is knitted top down. You will start by casting on stitches for the back of the neck and shaping shoulders with increases. After that the back and front panels are worked flat down to underarms, and then joined to work the body. Sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round.
Designer Tania Barley of The Wool Barrow knit her stunning sample in our Legacy DK base, using the colorways Chocolate Crinkle, Shimmy, and Man About Town. We’ve put together 8 curated kits (available in 5 bases!) inspired by her palette and design vision, along with 21 colorways offered across 12 bases for those who want to mix, match, or make it their own. Whether you’re drawn to moody neutrals or playful pops, there’s something for every cardigan dreamer in this update.
