Many of you have already met our Production Manager and Head Dyer, Nick, but now he’s delighted to be stepping into the role of ownership! 

Nick's decade-long journey with The Plucky Knitter began as a dyer's assistant, primarily rinsing skeins. He quickly progressed to dyeing yarn and has truly honed his skills over the years. Not only does he have extensive expertise in the industry, but most notably, a deep passion for the art of dyeing.

For Nick, selecting fibers and dyeing yarn is a labor of love. As the new owner and an experienced artisan, he is committed to continuing Plucky’s legacy of excellent craftsmanship while bringing fresh ideas and renewed energy through hands-on leadership.

Rest assured– Nick will remain our Head Dyer and continue to lead the production process, creating the same beautiful tonals and stunning variegated colorways you love! He is eager to maintain Plucky’s strong customer service and ongoing support of our partnerships with local yarn shops around the country. To help him in this endeavor, we also want to introduce you to his second-in-command.

Many of you have also met Brandy, whether virtually or in person; she is our resident knitter and fiber nerd.

Brandy, an avid knitter, has been with Plucky for the better part of ten years as well– starting in production, twisting hundreds of skeins of yarn along the way. Over the years, she’s explored the variations in fibers and how they combine to create beautifully unique fabrics. 

As our primary point of contact for Customer Service, Ravelry, and other social media platforms, she is here to ensure you receive top-notch service and guidance in all your knitting and yarn-related needs. Brandy also enjoys working with our Ravelry moderators to host our various KAL’s throughout the year. 

Brandy’s passion for knitting and dedication to helping others shines through in everything she does. She believes in the power of knitting to bring people together, a philosophy that’s woven into the very fabric of The Plucky Knitter.
