We know the emotional exuberance and thrill of creating one-of-a-kind colorways.
We literally—and emotionally—feel the very personal touch of artisan dyeing.
Above all, we are driven by a passion to inspire global makers who create unique and lasting masterpieces and who form an extraordinary community united by a shared passion for the art of knitting.
What We Believe In
We are fervent believers in the power of creativity, community, and the personal touch of hand-dyed yarn.
Our Quest for Luxury Fibers
We search the world to carefully select and curate unparalleled and exclusively developed base offerings that include: wool, cashmere, silk, cotton, linen, alpaca, camel, and yak.
We seek out exquisite fibers, examine their loft and feel, play with different twists, and constantly experiment with unique blends. In our quest to discover only the very best, we work hand-in-hand with our mills, placing the focus on combining our creativity with a love for the finest quality textures and fabrics.
Our Love of Color and the Personal Touch
Our custom milled bases are expertly dyed in our signature colorways by our skilled artisans, whose personal touch brings the yarn to life through exquisite color creation for makers who want to showcase their unique personality and style.
The dyeing techniques we’ve developed and refined over the years give us the opportunity to showcase our passion for creating tones and hues that come alive on our custom bases and ultimately the beautiful finished objects of makers who are artisans in their own right.
A Community of Makers
What began as a passion for fiber and color has since grown into a large and amazing community of makers. It’s something we never could have imagined when Plucky was founded thirteen years ago, but it is something we are thankful to be a part of each and every day. We continually strive to be an inclusive community of diverse peoples and viewpoints united in the end by a love and a respect for one another and this amazing artform we all share.
The Plucky Team
We are a small group of passionate, driven individuals—each with unique talents and gifts that, when combined, result in a team tightly bonded by a commitment to inspire creativity and community through the personal touch of stunning hand-dyed yarn for makers everywhere.
