This has been done forever and I kept forgetting to take pictures. How I love the cowl (as if that comes as a shock to anyone).

- Pattern: Nova’s Cowl - This is such a great pattern – will certainly be making more.
- Yarn: Plucky Knitter Merino Single Ply (yarn held double).
- Colorway: She’s Got Moxie
- Needles: Size 9
Thank you Nova!

One single down, another in the process – then on to my first plying. I feel a handspun cowl coming on…… What I wouldn’t give for an entire day of spinning. Had read many places that it was relaxing, but really, I had no idea how much so. My first attempts at spinning were, as expected, very lumpy, bumpy and crazy (which totally has its place), but I was going for something with a more finished look. I’m getting there, slowly but surely. Baby steps, right?

Where It All Began – Merino Fingering

After – BFL Superwash

Bella Donna – Merino Fingering

Oath – Merino Lace
These and many others have been listed in the shop update this evening.

I’m as surprised as you are. Really thought I would work on the spindle for a while – truly I did. Meet Louie (you know I’ve named pusrses, what wouldn’t I name my wheel? Now I just have to decide what color to paint him…).

First yarn (everything from uber cobweb weight to practically a broomstick size - ought to make for a pretty funky something or other). Merino superwash roving from Vesper. I’ve already ordered roving from Gherkin - no way I’m going to run out of fiber. Got to keep the wheel spinning.
Don’t forget to enter the anniversary contest from yesterday. What a treat it is to read everyone’s comments – you guys have been busy!

I know I said I wanted to learn to spin, but this is just silly!

So, a week or so ago I ordered, what I thought was hand spun yarn from Natasha at Luxe on etsy…. well, I was wrong – very, very wrong. Today, I received this in the mail. While it is very lovely, I have no earthly idea what to do with it. HELP.

Do I need:
- Spindle
- Wheel
- Someone to make something out of this for me?
- How much yarn will this make?
Seriously, my mind is just reeling….
***edited to add*** – This acquisition of spinning fiber is completely my fault – Natasha did nothing but send me some fibery goodness. I can totally see the potential, just don’t know how to get “there”.
