we are going to get along great! So far I’m loving the long-ish torso, the yarn, the color and (in my opinion, the chocolate sprinkles on the whole thing) the cowl!!! Yes, I’ve become completely obsessed with knitting Francis Revisited.

This sweater is knit at slightly looser gauge (the pattern calls for a gauge of 4sts to the inch). I’m getting approximately 4.25 sts per inch, but, this ultra alpaca grows – alot. I’m thinking I will get gain about 1/2″ to 1″ in width/length with blocking. And, as if I needed anything else to love about this knit, it’s knit on size 10 needles so it’s practically flying off the needles.

Saving the best for last….. the cowl. At least that’s the plan right now. Just get me through the sleeves.
Let’s see, what else. Oh, yes, I’ve been busy at the dye pots.

Bethie – Cashmere Bulky

Blueberry Buckle-ish – MCN Fingering

With All Respect – Merino Superwash

Chronicles – Merino Superwash

The past week has been a blur. It started late last week with out-of-town company arriving and then all the ensuing hay ride, bonfires, movies and general merriment.

Sam – of course Sam was there.

Your eyes do not deceive you. That is a real, working toilet and a porcelain sink (hot and cold running water and electricity). Fanciest outhouse. Ever.

My Dad – totally in his element. Hayrides for his grandkids and their friends.

Sensory over-load for Sam

The scenic route.

Of course he put lights in the trees… it gets dark out here, three miles from the nearest paved road. Totally the middle of nowhere.

There was a fire. A Big Fire.

My Dad in his “hayride” hat (every hayride for over twenty years now).

Seriously. This bonfire was fit for a Viking funeral or something.

Not sure how he talked me into this one.
It’s been a while since a meme has gone around. Saw this one (have you seen Alicia’s blog and book? It’s so darling – you’ll love it!) and thought it would be fun – it’s just one word, you can do it… go ahead, play along!

She’s at it again! Providing me will all kinds of crazy and quirky eye candy. Now, I’ll have to put her to work for me and get her to help me with a photo shoot for my new scrunchable scarf!
All pictures, courtesy Shelb ~

Her new bangs suit her perfectly. Now, I am, by no means, a professional hair stylist, but I do know how to cut good bangs. So glad she loves them – couldn’t be more perfect for her.

Guess we won’t be having corn as a side for dinner this week. That’s ok. Makes for a snazzy picture.

Her favorite ring on display during a trail trimming expedition at the nature preserve where she volunteers as part of her Ecology curriculum in High School.
