Mr. Plucky planted some succulents this past summer and we managed to keep them alive all winter!
Call me crazy (actually, no need. I’m fully aware that I am one peculiar, issue laden gal), but you know your UFO’s are getting antsy when the start talking to you. Yesterday, I logged into Ravelry and I got a message from my No-Purl Monkey saying “Finish me. I’m pretty.” When the knits start talking back, that’s pretty serious. So, now that the first shipment of Plucky Classics are well on their way, I am going to put the feet up and knit. That should shut the knits up – I hope.
It’s that time again. Time to give away some tangled yarn to you intrepid detanglers out there. You know who you are. Leave me a comment as to why you find detangling yarn so intriguing and I will pick a number out of a hat and send two winners each a skein of yarn to untangle and do with what you will.
Happy Tuesday!
P.S. Guess what I am dyeing up this week?
Summer of Love. I get a lot of inquiries on this colorway and am finally at a spot where I can get a quantity of it dyed up. If you have a special interest, please contact me and I can be sure to put enough aside. The bases that will be dyed in this colorway will be the 80/10/10 MCN, 100% superwash merino and the 100% merino single ply.
Shortcake – 70/30 Merino Seacell – this and other new items have been added this evening.
An executive decision has been made. After much input, I’ve decided (through gentle persuasion and hints placed “here” and “there”) that the weekly updates will occur in the etsy shop. (Speaking of shop updates…. would you prefer to see them on the same day every week, or just have notice of when they will occur?). It’s easier to see all the new items, it keeps better track of inventory, it’s tried and true, so to speak. And, I think you are all nice and comfy with the process, as am I.
However, all is not lost on the new shop. This is where I will have all my club sign-ups and special offerings. But, no worries, before anything is listed you will be well informed.
FYI~ All Plucky Classic shipments will be in the mail first thing tomorrow morning. The mailman has been put on alert! I hope you love it. I’m already looking forward to next month and the month after and the month after…. well, you get the idea. April (the one being sent tomorrow), May and June’s shipments will be based on a character or place inspired by Jane Austen. Would you like to know what’s next after that? The following three months? I’m so excited I could spit. But I won’t.
First, the bad news – I’m sooooo miffed at Paypal right now. The Paypal subscription service is not providing mailing addresses for the Plucky Classics subscribers, which means that I must email each person and ask them to provide me their address. But, what’s even more disturning is that I do not have the ability to just print shipping labels directly from Paypal. Eventually, I will figure out why this occurred and how to fix it going forward. But, for the time being, I am sufficiently annoyed. **Edited to add: If anyone out there knows how to fix this issue, I’d love to hear any suggestions.**
Now for the good news. You guessed it – this means I am getting ready to ship the first installment of the Plucky Classics Club. Good night I am nervous!!! The first installment, of course, includes an exclusive colorway based on a Jane Austen classic, along with another little surprise. And, I’ve already begun working on May’s colorway and collaborating with a wonderful designer to bring you an exclusive pattern that will be included in that mailing too – I really think you will like it! It’s a ton of fun putting together this club – thank you so much for joining me!
There has been a shop update in my etsy shop. I’m thinking about reserving the shop here on my site for special offerings and club memberships and continuing to use the etsy shop for weekly updates. What do you think? Do you have a preference? Oh. And don’t forget, I’m now thrilled to offer free shipping on all U.S. orders over $50 and all International orders over $80.
Thank you so much for playing along with the naming of the base yarn contest. I will announce the winner later this weekend. But, first, off to send some emails….lots and lots of emails.
Fingering weight yarn (held double). This yarn in the lovely Alice from Dee.
Cast on 72 sts *k1, yo, k2tog* until you just can’t stand it anymore…. makes long loop that you wrap around your neck twice. Light, cozy and lovely. Took all of 2.5 hours. Instant gratification.
I really have to find another way to take pics….
I’m torn. Wondering if the sweater needs another decrease at the waist. I’m a tad concerned about the stretch potential of the 100% cotton yarn. While we’re at it…. another question. The sleeves – I’m thinking just a couple rows of 2 x 2 ribbing - which would end up matching the bottom hem. Keep it consistent?
what is dry, skeined and photographed today? Bit of an early update. I love this time of year – the yarn dries so quickly. These lovelies and more are now in the shop. Free shipping this week on all U.S. orders $50 and over and all International orders $80 and over. Enjoy!
Josephine – 80/10/10 Merino Cashmere Nylon
Anne – 80/10/10 MCN
Barton’s Cottage – 80/10/10 MCN
Jackie – 80/10/10 MCN
80/10/10 MCN, Merino Superwash, Merino Single Ply…. all sounds so, I don’t know, sterile. What do you say we have a little yarn base naming party? Sound fun? You know there some prize yarn in it for you, right?
Let’s name Plucky’s bases yarns! I’ll take entries until 11:59 EST, Wednesday, April 23.
The bases are:
80/10/10 Merino Cashmere Nylon
100% Merino Superwash (fingering, sport and worsted)
100% Merino single ply (lace, fingering and worsted)
50/50 silk merino lace
100% Blue Faced Leiceseter
Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
Now, off to skein the Plucky Classics yarn…. ships out later this week! Speaking of Plucky Classics – did you get your button yet?
Pardon the absence. I’ve not fallen off the face of the earth… just fallen into dentist chairs and boxes of yarn to dye. Such is my life this week. Dentist = not so good. Boxes of yarn = Bliss. Good with the bad, right?
Have you seen Kirsten’s cowl? It’s so cute I can hardly stand the cuteness! Of course, you know I’ve gone and cast on for one. And, it just so happens, that I have a few skeins of bulky in the shop. With a few more to be added later this evening (must get pictures in the evening sun).
Valentina – Bulky Merino Cashmere
Seriously, cowls are popping up everywhere. Have you seen Julie’s? Or Megan’s?
It’s a big weekend at Plucky HQ – Plucky Classics is being dyed up and prepared for shipment the end of next week, also dyeing some special orders and….. dyeing yarn for the next shop update. When is the next shop update you ask? Let’s shoot for Monday evening, how’s that sound?
Remember – the free shipping sale runs through tomorrow night – 11:59 EST.
