you never know what your gonna to get (love that movie)……
Both skeins started out as a very light aqua blue, but I got the dyeing bug and decided to throw them in the pot. The top one turned out about like I thought it would – nice spruce/gray green. The bottom – total surprise. I thought it would be a dark brown, but it’s more like gray, brown, aubergine-ish sort of color. Odd, but I actually like it.

Next up on the dyeing front will be verigated. Ohh, that makes me nervous……

“It” being my gumption to get my projects done. This is the most knitting “get up and go” I’ve had in a long time. Finally.

Really can’t say enough good things about Sandra’s Charade pattern - it’s a fun, easy pattern and it works great with the verigated yarn. And, the YP – no pooling at all - oh, that makes me so happy.

Also started the BSA Rectangle Shawl, it may take me a while, but what a joy to knit. The alpaca silk is divine and the color is so rich and fun.
All I can say is it’s about time I got my knitting groove back!

Scenes from the Plucky dock, July – 2006. Cannot.wait.for.summer.

Here Sam is, thinking he is king of the lake, or at least the dock.
In knitting news, I started knitting my Rosie yarn into this pattern from Sandra. Great pattern Sandra! And, it looks like I am going to have company knitting these – wannabe and I are going to make sure we finish these socks – both of them! Anyone else want to join in? (updated: I have completed a few inches of the leg of the sock – what a fun herringbone pattern……)

Now for the next ”big” project. This has caught my eye – the Rectangle Shawl from Blue Sky Alpacas, knit in the suggested yarn, in the colorway Peapod. What do you guys think? Seems like a good next lace project and not too frilly. After much discussion with the snob a few weeks ago we both ordered the Peapod, then I talked with wannabe (she was having some clapotis angst) and she liked the idea too, so it looks as though we are having a little BSA knitalong – how fun is that? From the UK to the American West with a stop in the middle. What fun!
And, of course, in between all of this, finding time to dye, blog and knit more baby hats.

Wow, have I been spoiled! Chrissy!!! Thank you, thank you!
Yesterday I received a decadent (and very heavy) box full of treats all the way from Canda. There was chocoalte raspberry lotion and body wash, raspberry hand sanitizer, balt salts, citrus room spray, tea, more chocolate candy than you can shake a stick at, knitting magazines (I don’t have those issues – perfect!) and…… Duet Sock Yarn in Chocolate Fantasy - LOVE IT! Thank you so much Chrissy – you went out of your way and I truly appreciate it the effort. Such fun to meet you and read about you on your blog. Great job on the lace projects, by the way.

What’s that? Could it be? An actual finished object? Yep, I finally finished something. The plucky wrap is actually more like a baby wrap, but just what I had in mind – something to bunch up around my neck that is very cozy, with tons of texture. You can’t see in the picture, but there are other colors in the wrap too, much more green, blue and lavender. I couldn’t wait to wear it, so plucky has not been blocked yet. So it should grow a bit (does anyone know how much I can expect it to grow? 10%? 20%? more? It is a lace pattern I used, on size 13 needles…. just curious). Perhaps this weekend when it warms up I will take it off and block it. Until then, it’s staying right where it is, on my neck.

This little pattern from Blue Sky Alpacas – modified greatly. I know it is a bit unseasonal knit, but when I received this handspun cashmere from Dee (a few weeks ago) I cast on for this wrap and then in just sat and sat (you know, the startitis issues). But, I thought I’d mix it up a bit and add some other colors and then, it was off to the races. Haven’t been able to put it down since.
The wrap (what should we name her?) is approx 14″ wide and so far it is 32″ long – I am going for approximately 58″ to 60″, knit on size 13 needles. The softness and squishiness – you can’t believe it. Really think the texture of this yarn is what has completely won me over. So, if all goes well, this should be an official FO by Wednesday. Then, the Rosie socks and a baby hat and back to the Flair.

On another note, Sammy had company today…… Wiggin – 4 months old. The boys had lots of fun and are completely exhausted.

I saw this at Sheri’s, who saw it at Wendy’s, who saw it…. This is a fun little glimpse into the lives and kitchens of each other. Here is mine in all its cluttered glory.
