We have a winner! ~

March 31st, 2007 by Sarah

Kathy from SassyKrafty was my 100th comment (sometime late last night, I stayed up as long as I could to see who it would be, but fatigue won out over curiosity). I think contests are my new favorite thing. Now I will have to think up more reasons for contests – hmmm, the mind reels….

Now, Kathy, all you have  to do  is choose your prize. Can’t wait to hear from you.

Thanks to everyone for all their nice, helpful and funny comments – I love it!

In a funk ~ but, just maybe I see the light at the end of the tunnel….

March 30th, 2007 by Sarah

Just looking at the first picture, nothing to be in a funk over, cute ruffle, lovely yarn, fun stripe – but then there is the second picture and it just all goes down the drain, more holes….. I tried a short row heel and well, for my first try, not so bad, but certainly not so good. It will be frogged and I will try again.

Then there is the anklet (or as I prefer to call it, the “pilates” sock) I started, tried on and then realized it was too small – so off to frog that too. Not even worthy of a picture. Ugh!

Next, I decided I better get this little square  knitted – using Manos Cotton Stria in a soft pink and a Rice stitch, it’s turning out very cute. Will be sent off in Monday’s mail.

On the completely self-absorbed, knit for me front,  I  have been wanting to knit a great spring scarf and then this shows up from Liz (seriously so squishy,  the colors are so fun  and delightful, I can hardly stand it!):

Oh, how I love etsy!!!! It is a wealth of artsy and fibery treasures. So, in an all consuming quest for the perfect knitted spring scarf, I cast on for this today:

Have a lovely weekend, I hope you get lot’s of knitting done and who knows, someone may just be the 100th to comment yet this very weekend….. Can’t wait to see who it is!

A Contest ~

March 28th, 2007 by Sarah

As I near my 100th comment, I  feel like mixing things up a little and having a contest. Now doesn’t that sound like fun?

Don’t worry, it’s an easy one. All you have to do is comment.  Really, just comment  - you can ask me questions (they don’t even have to be related to knitting/yarn or anything crafty), talk about the weather,  hobbies, tell me  the name of your dog, your kids, a favorite recipe. Really, anything. Nothing else to it.

Then, if you happen to be the 100th person to leave a comment, you’ll get a kicky little suprise from yours truly.

Let’s see, what should it be? Maybe some:

  • Sock yarn (a skein of Vesper – yep, Vesper)
  • More Yarn (a skein of Malabrigo  in Jewel Blue or Chocolate)
  • Book (Love Walked In  - such a good book, I accidentally purchased two copies!)
  • Chocolate
  • Coffee
  • And other miscellaneous goodies of my choosing just to keep it a surprise…..

How about I let you decide? Just pick from the list (thought it would be only fair to throw in some non-knitting goodies for my friends that visit who have not yet taken up the needles).

O.K. ~  start talking.

Tulips & Yarn ~

March 26th, 2007 by Sarah

10mar2007-052.jpg

Thank you to  everyone for their nice comments on the new blog and our anniversary – very much appreciated.  Please bear with me as I figure out WordPress, slight learning curve.

Mr. Plucky brought me these lovely tulips – nothing says Spring like tulips!

Then, we were off to Chicago. Knit 1 offered Malabrigo Chunky – I have never seen the chunky before. If it’s possible, it’s even lovelier than the worsted. Look at these colors (cactus pink, bobbi blue and lettuce)….

Then, what should show up in the mail today? This bit of squishy loveliness known as Posh – boy that Dee is good! So good, that even Sammy thinks it should be guarded. Good dog~

It’s 74 and partly sunny today – just when all this fun wool shows up… oh well, off to the stash it goes.
