Sorry for any confusion that may have been caused, but I forgot to mention that the pattern calls for the yarn to be held double and the first row of the pattern should read: K1 *K2tog, K3, M1, K1, M1, K3, SSK*, end K1. The PDF has been changed.

Kirsten, I love the color of your door!
Anna’s Socks~ Kirsten named this sock after her grandmother Anna. The stitch pattern reminded her of the tufted back on her large, cobalt blue couch. Can’t you just picture that lovely sofa? Anna’s socks are knit on two circular needles from the top down. The easily memorized stitch pattern ends in a point at the top of the foot. How unique!

Achillea ~ Because I cannot say it any better – to quote Kirsten: “I was struggling to think of a name for this sock, until Teresa commented on last week’s post. She said of this sock, “It kind of reminds me of a yarrow stalk with all it’s leaves.” This awoke the gardener in me. You see, the botanical name for yarrow is “Achillea”. It is named for Achilles of Greek myth; magnificent warrior, hero of Troy. I’m sure you’ve all heard the story, his only vulnerability was his heel, and this eventually led to his demise. I thought this would be the perfect name for a sock. And so, Achillea it is, the flower or the hero, your choice.”
Perfect choice Kirsten – just perfect!

Overwhelming - to put it very mildly. Really, I can’t even begin to thank all of you enough for your generous offers to test knit. But, boy, I am so going to take you up on it. And as all the test knits come back to me over the next several weeks I will be singing their praises (the knitters and their knits) near and far. Be sure to check back, there will be some real cuties.
Coming Attraction - Plucky Socks! You may recall a mention of a collaboration with the ever so talented Kirsten. Well, she is putting the finishing touches on two patterns made for Plucky Yarns. I am so excited!
Both of the patterns should be ready by early next week. They will be available at my etsy shop (and, once I figure out how to have them available right here on this site the patterns will also be available here) and at Kirsten’s site, Through The Loops. Boy, she did a stellar job coming up with patterns that really suit the yarn. Pure design and knitterly brilliance that Kirsten. Thank you!
