P.S. If you are already signed up for Plucky Classics, there is no need to renew. Paypal will automatically renew for you.
And, to mix things up a bit, this three month rotation will feature not only the very popular MCN fingering weight yarn, but also a skein of the lovely, soft and shimmery cashmere/silk lace weight yarn. You just can’t get more decadent than a cashmere cowl or scarf or mitts or…….. (fill in the blank).
And so much more. Wow you guys have been busy too!
What a kick I got out of reading your comments. Because I want to share and, well, because I can, I chose two winners (thanks to the Random Number Generator): FujiMama and Karen. Thank you to everyone for playing along and all your congratulations.
Moon Unit - Found under a bridge and rescued by Plucky Girl on Friday. Approximately 4 weeks old.
Call Me Sweetheart - 100% Cashmere Lace
By The Light - Cashmere/Silk Lace
Elegance - Cashmere Silk Lace
Edited to add: These and many others (the MCN fingering is in too!!!) will be updated in the shop later today - Let’s say 8:00 6:30 p.m. EST, weather permitting (we’re in for more rain so I am going ahead with the update early…. a bit leary of losing power, again…..).
I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t received your package yet, but I did want to tell you how much I am loving coming up with the colorways, bases, swag and inspirations for the club shipments. And, speaking of swag, your shipment next month will have two little goodies… Just thought I’d throw out a little teaser and give you something to look forward to. Hope you have enjoyed the Confection Cowl Pattern and the fiber wash.
And, speaking of Classics, the Austen inspired theme will be coming to an end with the end of June’s shipment. Which begs the question - What will the next theme be? I’ll ask you - what would you like to see next?
Big Shouldered Broads (and you know I mean that in that in the very nicest and most respectful way, right?) or….
Seems so long ago….. that I started dyeing. Can it really be that it’s only been a smidge over a year since I started experimenting? And, it was a year ago yesterday that I opened my shop and sold my very first skeins of yarn. What a thrill it’s been! I have each and every one of you to thank…. and you know how I love a contest. So, to thank you and show my appreciation let’s have a contest. How’s that sound?
I’d love to know how your life has changed in the past year. Did you get a new job? Become a new knitter? Start school? Get married? Really, anything and everything. Leave me a comment - tell me what small or very significant thing is different in your life than it was a year ago. I’ll close comments on Friday at 12:00 EST - at that time I will enter the comments in the random number generator and choose a winner. Plucky goods, of course.
It has come to my attention that the base yarn that I sent out for the first installment of the Plucky Classics club shipment, and some of the merino/cashmere/nylon that has been sold on the Etsy shop over the last several weeks is in fact a light sport weight instead of the fingering weight I ordered from my supplier. The base yarn is the exact same blend, but the spi is approximately 6spi versus 8spi. There was a mix-up with my supplier and they did in fact ship me the wrong weight and are working fast and furiously to correct this.
To say I’m just completely sick over this would be an extreme understatement. As I hope you are well aware, my customers are extremely important to me and your satisfaction tops everything in my book. I want to do whatever I can to make this better. I will be offering 25% off your next skein purchase plus free shipping or will refund your money to you for the skein you purchased. For the Plucky Classics club members, I will be offering an extra goody in your packages (in addition to the already scheduled goody) next month to make up for the mistake. Next month’s shipment will be either the MCN in the fingering base or my 100% superwash merino. Again, as stated earlier, my supplier is working fast and furiously to make sure that I have the MCN fingering for this months shipment, but just in case something unforseen happens, I need to add the disclaimer.
I value each and every one of you. You are what makes my business grow and you are so vital to me and my success. I will and want to do whatever I can to correct this and have each of my customers happy. Please contact me at dimsarah @ yahoo . com if you have any questions and/or to tell me what you would like.
The good that has come out of this, is that I know have another fantastic base yarn to work with. The sport weight is gloriously soft, has great yardage, is superwash and would make a beautiful pair of socks, cowls or baby items. The possibilities are endless. I plan on carrying the merino/cashmere/nylon sport base and listed some on my Etsy shop last night. **Edited to add: Just added some more skeins. Including Summer of Love in the sport weight MCN. **
If you are on Ravelry, a new profile for the merino/cashmere/nylon sport base has been added, so please feel free to change over your yarns when you are ready.
And, the other reason for the major thumping in my chest…… Plucky Girl got her first car (she doesn’t take her driving test until next week, so in the meantime it sits in the drive).
1994 Volvo S80 - Manual Transmission. A fortress on wheels.
Sorry for any confusion that may have been caused, but I forgot to mention that the pattern calls for the yarn to be held double and the first row of the pattern should read: K1 *K2tog, K3, M1, K1, M1, K3, SSK*, end K1. The PDF has been changed.
