Went to the Emerald City ~

By | September 14, 2008

And came home with some Ruby Slippers  (from a kicky shoe store called Market Street Shoes).

Hi there everyone! It’s been so long – so much to catch up on and so much to share. So much that I better break it up into a few posts. And, because the re-entry from a trip is suh a bear, let’s start with an easy one. Pretty shoes and a knitted sweater.

And I finished Ingenue!

  • Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca – 4 skeins
  • Needles: Size 9 (5.5m)
  • All together, this took about three days to knit. Granted, I did have a lot of time on the airplane. But, still, that’s some quick knitting and you just can’t beat that.
  • Verdict: Go start one, you’ll  be  so glad you did! And, I love it so much I want to make another.

Stanley Park – Vancouver, BC

Off to do laundry and get ready for a busy week of dyeing. Back soon with a recap.

Love the shoes! Every woman should have a pair of ruby slippers in their wardrobe.

Love the Ingenue, but the shoes are to die for. Ingenue + white blouse + gray flannel pants + ruby shoes = one very well-dressed woman.

The shoes are so cute, and the Ingenue is gorgeous! I’m off to queue it right now. :) Hope the trip was super fun.

You had me with the first photo of the shoes! Love. Them!

Three days? Four skeins? Oh boy, that one is on the list. Now to get my copy of the book back from my friends!

The sweater looks great on you!

I just swatched my Ingenue today – and I think my yarn is too “dk” for this sweater – darnit – so off I go a swatching again:) I love yours! And your trip sounds as though it was about perfect – great picture!

Great shoes and sweater, Plucky! Don’t you just love Vancouver? Did you get to go to Maiwa on Granville Island to look at all the natural dyes?

I love it!

That’s beautiful! A perfect fit on you and it looks great over the collared shirt. It’s nice to see one with less ease than the modeled shot – I am more interested in this pattern now ;)

Vancouver and British Columbia are on my very short list of places I’d like to see. I’m really not a traveller. I look forward to any more pictures you’d like to share. I’m not normally a shoe person either, but those are very cute. Glad to see the sock had a good time on vacation. ;-)

I love the sweater. I love the color too. It looks like you will get a lot of wear out of it this winter.
