A Tangle ~
By Sarah | July 23, 2008
There will be a bit of blog silence for the next several days – but, before I go, this is what I’ll be up to:
- Finishing up dyeing Plucky Classics today and tomorrow followed by drying and preparing for shipment. (Did you know that it takes me two solid days to get it all skeined, tagged, packaged and shipped?).
- Photographing yarn and preparing for a shop update for this Saturday, July 26. I will have a brief post here before the udpate.
- Working on getting the new studio up and running.

Silk Cashmere Lace Weight – totally tangled. If you leave a comment, upon my return I’ll pull a random number and send the tangle to you for some crazy fun untangling!

He gets cheeky when he knows the camera is on him….

Bob and Elmer T. (I only call him Dad, but it’s fun to refer to him as Elmer T.)…. checking out the oven….

If all goes well, I will have an after picture the week of August 3…..

OOO, me. ME ME ME! Put me in the pot for the drawing.
B looks so cute! Gah! I can’t wait to see how you transform Elmer T’s garage into a dyeing retreat. Make sure you accesorize!

No, me! I have near-infinite patience for detangling! Really, it’s too lovely, despite not being the kind of olors I normally go for.
Naomi on July 23, 2008 at 11:31 am.
Somehow I just lost my comment in the internet black hole!
I am so, so excited for you to have a dedicated dye space. You have such an eye for color. BTW, I luvva, luvva, luv my cashmere wuthering heights!!!!! Scrumpdelicious!
Desiree on July 23, 2008 at 11:50 am.

Yay! A studio for dying your beautiful yarns – you deserve it! Thanks to Bob and Elmer T. for their help. Silk cashmere yarn in that beautiful color looks so yummy . . . I am finishing up a cowl in your MCN yarn – it is sooo soft and fun to work with.
Mandy on July 23, 2008 at 12:56 pm.
Ooh, beautiful tangle! I’d love to have a go at it!
Love that you’re getting a new dye studio – I just know that amazing yarn will come from it!

Exciting about the dye studio! It sounds wonderful.
And of course I wouldn’t mind being considered for some pretty pretty yarn
Ellie on July 23, 2008 at 1:43 pm.
It looks like your dad is almost as cute as mine.
catsnrabbits on July 23, 2008 at 1:46 pm.
Hmmm, untangling lace weight yarn, that’ll be a challenge. Why not?
So where does all the crap, er important guy stuff, from the garage get to live now?
Sharon on July 23, 2008 at 1:55 pm.
Sad to say, but I enjoy detangling yarn…something so satisfiying to take a ball of knots and twists and tame it into a lovely ball of yarn…
Rachel on July 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
That is one crazy big knot! When I was a teacher, I used to tell my students that if I ever left teaching I would become a professional knot untangler. I had lots of practice with shoelaces, but laceweight would be a great challenge! I also have a fine career ahead of me in zipper-fixing. Know anyone who is hiring?
Bobbi on July 23, 2008 at 2:27 pm.
Omigosh…detangling totally sounds like the kind of thing that would keep me occupied while waiting for my daughter to get home from camp! Pick me, pick me!!!
Valerie on July 23, 2008 at 2:39 pm.
Tangled yarn, I think I can do this! : )
RachelB on July 23, 2008 at 3:00 pm.
Oh I love the color. And I have lots of practice untangling – my two young daughters love to ‘help’.

Good luck with your dye studio! It’s so nice to have one’s own work station, isn’t it?
Michelle on July 23, 2008 at 10:22 pm.
Okay, this may sound weird, but detangling yarn is one of my secret obsessions. If there is tangled yarn near me… I. Cannot. Stop. Until. It. Is. Unraveled.
Yes, OCD runs in my family. What a lovely prize for indulging my lil’ bit of crazy. LOL! Please, pick me!
Liesl on July 23, 2008 at 11:10 pm.
The dye studio is excellent and exciting news, and so good of the men to help you get set up. Can’t wait to hear how the space looks after.
The silk/cashmere lace is gorgeous – I’m sure I could get the kids to help out with an untangling project!
Were your ears ringing today? I was showing off my Plucky MCN summer of lover charade sock (got the first one done) to oohs and aahs at Inish Knits this morning.
Jan on July 23, 2008 at 11:12 pm.
Tangled yarn stinks! I always give mine to my MIL who graciously untangles for me ; ) Good luck with the new studio.
diane on July 24, 2008 at 12:36 am.
I hate tangles but my husband says that I have a lot of patience . He always hangs around suggesting that scissors would help!
wakana on July 24, 2008 at 7:58 am.
The color is stunning! I would love to take up a challenge to untangle it — Can’t wait to see your new dye studio. Exciting!
Susan V. on July 24, 2008 at 8:26 am.
Looking forward to the next installment of Plucky Classics. Just started some socks with Capt. Wentworth and love it! Should probably give them to someone, but don’t think I’ll be able to. I’d happily untangle that yarn–it would make a lovely shawl, don’t you think?
Karen on July 24, 2008 at 10:10 am.
Since I won your last contest, don’t put me in the drawing. But I wanted to say that I love the Before pics for the dying studio and I can’t wait to see the After!! This sure is exciting!!!
Lauren on July 24, 2008 at 12:51 pm.
Good luck setting up the dye studo! Great pictures – we’ll all be looking for the after pics. Count me in for untangling too.
Edith on July 24, 2008 at 2:41 pm.
Can’t wait to see the dye studio. That will be awesome. I wish I had a studio for all my crapola. I’d love to be included in the tangle if you please. Thanks!
