What’s the matter – cat got your tongue?
By Sarah | July 18, 2008
Things have been quiet around here. I assure you, they have been anything but quiet behind the scenes here at Plucky HQ. Big things in the works. Big. Here is just a sampling of the exciting things going on, and in no particular order:
- New dye studio, primitive thought it may be, it’s going to be great. I’m very excited. Do you know what this means? For starters, this means that I can have a studio that I do not have to dismantle everytime I am finished dyeing. It means that I can dye, uninterrupted by laundry, a hungry husband and child (who try to be patient, but when I am taking up the kitchen with wet yarn and they are wanting dinner, they get a little antsy). Also means I will have more room, which means more yarn. And, that’s a good thing, right? More on this later.
- New base yarns. Some very, very lovely, snazzy and over the top base yarns. I can’t wait to show them to you.
- Working on getting the first installment of Hitchcock Heroines dyed up and ready to send in the next two weeks.
- And, in the midst of all these things, I’ve been staying up very, very late the last three nights just to have a little time to knit. Which brings me to:
Sassymetrical Lu – yes, that’s what I’ll call this one. Remember the old Lu – she wasn’t so sassy.

- Pattern: Sassymetrical, by Gays Knits.
- Yarn: Jade Sapphire 6ply
- Needles: Size 7 32″ circular
What the verdict so far? So far, I think this Lu and I are going to get on splendidly!
I thought summer was suppose to have a slower pace, you know more relaxing. Hmmmm. Not so much around these parts lately. How about you all – are you having a relaxing summer?

Look at you Sarah D, in a color!!! It is beautiful, this will be perfect on you and a great color for you. Tell Mr.Plucky to make his mac and cheese and don’t interfere with dyeing process!!

I just took a peek at the old Lu. Looks like you have used different yarn. Looks like that’s all that it needed. Loving the new Lu!!

I am amazed that you were able to get so much yarn dyed while only using the kitchen. I assumed that you already had a dyeing area set up. Congrats on the studio and I can’t wait to see what comes out of it. I’ve got my credit card ready.

I immediately went and downloaded the pattern. What size did you make?? If you varied the size did you increase CO stiches as suggested?

It looks so beautiful and so soft! What a great project. Congrats on the new studio! I spent all Sat. dyeing yarn and have a newfound respect for you and all the other great indie dyers. That’s a ton of work!

That is so great that you are going to have your own dye studio! I wondered how you all were handling the mass amount dyeing going on there! I tried my hand at it a couple times and it was too much for me – especially with the little ones. I can’t wait to see your new base yarns also.
The cardi is looking good. Gorgeous color!

Oooohhhhh, a dye studio!!! How cool!!! I’m so very excited for you.
And, I’m in crazy love with your Lu. Great color, terrific fit – I’d say she’s perfect so far.

The sweater is turning out great – a wonderful pairing of pattern and yarn. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
I’m on the lace part of my Feb. Lady sweater now, and it’s been a lot of fun.

Gorgeous colour Sarah.

I love the colour and really like this model when I look at your picture, but not when I see the one on Ravelry. Your picture does it far better justice.
As for your yarns… SIGH! they make me want to shop and I SO do not need any more yarn!
