Summer Weekend V. 2~
**Very picture heavy post**
To bring you up to speed, here’s a little backstory. So, without further ado – the KB5 is finished! Well, all but the flatbed (I’ll save that for another post).

1949 International KB5 – The horn and electric windshield wipers even work.

My Dad spent three weeks buffing this grill – by hand. Began as a very dull nickle – now it’s so shiny I could use it to apply eyeliner.

Overheard:
Dad: It makes sort of a gurgle sound (insert more mechanic speak here).
Red Hat: Throw a couple marbles in there, that’ll fix her.
No Hat: Nah, burn some kerosene.
Dad: I was just thinking that.
Me: What?!?!?!

How do I make this go? (Of course I had to have some nephew shots…. they were all over this place like white on rice).

Love Granpa’s truck

Yep, I drove it. I had to – he wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Dad’s John Deere B (with spoke wheels, apparently that is a big thing) – this was also a hit, but not as much as the truck.

More nephew shots…. Totally can’t resist (He spent most his time up a tree).

Earlier in the day: Garden omelete – sans cheese. Wheat Challah toast with strawberry compote with…….

Ashley and her breakfast. Sorry Ashley – I’m can’t remember for sure what the name of this was, but it certainly looked tasty. Almost as good as the knitty conversation. Then, there was just a smidge of yarn buying:

Jade Sapphire 6ply – 40% off!!! 5 skeins totaling 750 yards.

Had to throw in an action shot.

After the down pour – Of course there was rain (and another power outage!).
What’s your favorite way to spend a summer weekend?

I love the truck, but the john deere is way cooler (cuz I dream of being a tractor girl like my sister)

What lovely photos! Our weekend was pretty uneventful–too much rain over here. We did get to meet a friend’s tiny newborn baby, though, which pretty much made my week.

Yay for picture heavy posts!! The truck is magnificent! That is quite an accomplishment. Congrats to your dad.
The nephew photos are adorable!!

I love the color of your dad’s truck. OMG. Gorgeous.
How lucky that you got to meet Miss Dogged herself. Did she have Bailey with her?
My favorite way to spend my weekends lately are knitting with friends, swimming and spending time with my family. Some vegan dessert always helps too.

I love the truck AND the tractor. But then I’m in a green phase.
My favorite type of summer weekend includes the beach and lots of iced tea.

I agree with Britt. The new tractor is way cool. Then again I can get excited about a new pitchfork too when all the tines are sharp and pointing in the same direction.
I’m an autumn/winter lover myself. I can’t take the heat.

What great photos! I had so much fun looking through – great colors everywhere along with happy faces. Very nice weekend indeed.
Favorite summer weekend for me? a good book, good knitting, and good food. Heck, that is every weekend!

Sweet truck!!! My hubby just redid a ‘57 Chevy truck in Lamborghini orange. I guess they get as excited about that as we do about touching yarn!!!

Oh my God it’s my dream car! Nice.

That truck is the coolest thing!
The Jade Sapphire yarn is pretty – it’s a good color for you!
Usually any weekend that I make progress on a project is a great one!

Thank you, thank you. My family thinks I’m nuts with all these “cutesey” knitting blogs, but I have 3 boys that adore(my word) trucks. I think they finally get this knitting blog thing
The color of the truck is gorgeous, and having a son who likes to do this kind of stuff, I know the time and effort it takes. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

First off, holy cow! What an amazing vehicle. Your dad must be so proud. Secondly, I also bought some Jade Sapphire (cashmere/silk fingering weight) this weekend for a wedding shawl. I struck gold.

Wow your dad is so talented!! It’s beautiful. My fav way to spend weekend – cuddling my brand new neice. If I can’t do that then go to auto theater for a movie, spending time with my family eating, drinking SWEET TEA, going on hiking trails with my parents golf cart!! Just being outside.
Can you post more pics of Moono Unit???

Where to begin?! These are such amazing photos and what an amazing, down home weekend – LOVE it!
The truck is amazing! Your dad is quite talented. I have a spot in my heart for the John Deer since I grew up on a farm and my dad still farms. He has an antique Deer in the barn but it sure isn’t as pretty as the one above!

I love the picture heavy post! You really capture a day in words and pictures, and your photography is very inspirational – the ones of your nephews are priceless! (I want to ask for a better camera for my birthday this year…..). Looks like you were at the Gilmore museum?

Cool turck, I just can’t imagine all the time he put into it! So awesome. Beautiful yarn, as always!
