Bumper Crop ~

Local berries – there really is nothing better.    These became strawberry shortcake, freezer jam and bags and bags of frozen berries. I can taste the smoothies now. What are your favorite foods of summer?

Remember this post? The eternal question of what to make for dinner? You guys came up with some fantastic ideas…. I just happened upon Supercook. Have you seen their site? It’s almost like a game, seeing what the site comes up with. Some pretty random recipe ideas, along with some basic ones.

3 x 1 Ribbed Sock

We’ve been up to our eyeballs with family events, which means lots of sitting, waiting and riding in car  time. These have been my constant companion. Perfect social knitting, no thinking required.

My favourite summer food – it’s a toss up between raspberries and fresh tomatoes. I love those socks, what yarn is that?

I love the socks! What yarn is that? Because I need more yarn, obviously. As for favorite summer food, BBQ and watermelon remind me of being a kid. But I like peaches too.

Fresh local cantaloupe, hot dogs charred black on the grill and vanilla ice cream, but not all at the same time.

Those socks do rock! :-)

These days, I am eating, and LOVING, fresh canteloupe, watermelon, peaches, and tomatoes. The tomatoes are bought at a local farmer’s market, so are safe. Summer is my favorite time to eat, with all the fresh fruits available. ;-)

Apricots, apricots, apricots! Bags and bags of them, ripe and sweet, from the farmer’s market. I eat so many I’m *almost* glad when they go out of season . . . but it isn’t long before I’m dreaming of apricots again. And it’s almost time — hooray!!

I am loving local strawberries right now too. And I love that sock!
