Plucky Classics ~

Read with Me,
Watch with Me,
Dream with Me,
Knit with Me.
Plucky Classics – a yarn club.
Every three months will be based on a different classic movie, author or book….Which classics? I’ll reveal the classic before each three month cycle. The first cycle will be Jane Austen. You know how I love Jane. And these will not be any of the colorways I’ve had available in my store. These are brand new, for club members only. I also plan to have exclusive patterns available and other fun things. Stay tuned!
The first five members that sign up for a three month membership will receive a Plucky Classics T-Shirt or a Plucky Classics Tote Bag. I will contact you to let you know if you were one of the first five members and you will be give your choice of sizes for the T-shirt or a tote bag.
So, tell me – how do I sign up?
Subscription sign-up’s will begin tomorrow, March 25th at 6:00 p.m. EST and will be kept open until Friday, March 28 at 9:00 p.m. EST. For this first round there will be 50 spots available. 20 one-month subscriptions and 30 three-month subscriptions.
The following subscriptions are available:
-
3 months – United States $85
-
1 month United States – $30
-
3 months International – $100
-
1 month International – $40
-
3 months Canadian – $90
-
1 month Canadian – $35
When will my yarn ship? And how do I pay for it?
Payment will be due on the 20th of every month (this will pay for the next months yarn). For example – If you sign up tomorrow for a one month subscription, payment of $30 will be due at that time and your yarn will ship on April 25th. If you sign up for the three month subscription tomorrow, payment of $80 will be due and your first shipment will be April 25th. Please remember that your subscription will automatically renew every month or every three months (depending on the subscription you chose) unless you cancel ahead of time.
I know there will be questions, lots of questions. So, please ask away.
***Edited to add***
Krysten asks a very good question: Which base yarn will I use?
For this round I will be using my 80/10/10 Merino, Cashmere, Nylon blend. It’s delicious.

YEA!!! Your so ingenious. Love the logo and idea of the classics, I think most women do. Also I think the wording about read, watch dream and knit with me is Pure Brillance. It’s poetic or something, very beautiful. What does a person get for a one month subscription…how much yarn? Is it just the yarn? SO many questions.very excited for you and for all of us!!!!!

Hi, This sounds v. exciting although I’ve never joined a yarn club before so I’m not clear on how it works… Do you get a mystery/surprise skein of yarn mailed to you once a month? Or do you get to choose from an exclusive colorway?
March 25th, 2008 at 6:12 am
Very exciting – what a delightful surprise! Yay! and love the logo!

I’m just reading through this again and my question is – if you sign up for the 3 months does that mean you are signing up for 3 skeins per month and paying $80 per month? You say paymentS are due on the 20th of each month, that’s making me think there will be more than one payment of 80 or 85 dollars due?
Sign up for one month is just one payment, one skein and that’s it – no other skeins and payments due?

I hope I can get in! I have a hair appiontment at 5:30, this is great! Reading and knitting definitely two things on my favorite list.

Awesome idea Sarah! My yarn arrived yesterday, it is so yummy, I am having a hard time deciding what to knit or crochet with it.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:28 am
How much yarn in each shipment Sarah? One skein? Two?
March 25th, 2008 at 10:29 am
Congrats! Have fun with it. I love the idea of an Austen theme. Mmmmm, Darcy-riffic.

I am new to your blog. I followed the link on the Knitterella site. I am just curious, are your patterns for the yarn club socks? Or is it a variety of things? I was going to sign up for the 3 month subscription, but I am not a sock knitter.
