Three Things ~

By | March 19, 2008

Everyone, meet Carol – Carol, everyone.

Maxx New York  Sonata Satchel (from the !!clearance rack!! at Nordstrom in Seattle). Had to have something to carry  all that yarn home in….

Dee  always has fun questionnaires. Here are my three things and, please feel free to play along.

Three Things That Scare Me

  1. Rodents
  2. The unknown or what if’s (sometimes I just think too much)
  3. Airplanes

Three People Who Make Me Laugh

  1. Gavin
  2. Mr. Plucky
  3. Sam (I know he’s my dog, but seriously, he makes me laugh – a lot!)

Three Things I Love

  1. A pedicure
  2. Farmers Markets
  3. Watching an old movie while knitting or dyeing yarn

Three Things I Hate

  1. Bananas (with all my heart and soul I hate bananas)
  2. Raw meat (won’t touch it)
  3. Computer trouble

Three Things I Don’t Understand

  1. Unreasonable people
  2. Hedge Funds
  3. HTML (would very much like to learn)

Three Things On My Desk

  1. Yarn
  2. Back issues of Martha Stewart Living (thank you Mary!)
  3. A Zeiss Microscope and eye pieces

Three Things I’m Doing Right Now

  1. Listening to iTunes
  2. Wishing for warm weather
  3. Making plans

Three Things I Want To Do Before I Die

  1. Go to Europe
  2. Have a successful small buisness
  3. Live in a tiny cottage by the sea (or at least stay in one for a while)

Three Things I Can Do

  1. A back bend
  2. Dye
  3. Remember alot  of very random, odd    and obscure bits of information

Three Things I Can’t Do

  1. Touch my tongue to my nose
  2. Alegbra
  3. Eat a banana (nope, can’t. Physically incappable).

Three Things I Think You Should Listen To

  1. Your Dad (or suitable parental unit or subsitute… you know, someone you are certain has your best interest at heart)
  2. Wait, Wait – Don’t Tell Me on NPR
  3. Frank Sinatra

Three Things You Should Never Listen To

  1. Your insecurities (one of these days maybe I will take my own advice)
  2. A Naysayer
  3. Hmmm. Must give that some thought.

  1. To bake good bread
  2. To speak French
  3. To Sew

Three Favorite Foods

  1. Ice Cream
  2. Grilled Asparagus
  3. Soda Bread from Paddy Coynes  (now if I could just figure out how to get some from Tacoma….or the recipe). Anyone know of a good soda bread recipe?

Three Shows I Watched As A Kid

  1. Little House on the Prairie
  2. Family Ties
  3. The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (of course I was too young to stay up that late so I would sit in the hallway and watch from there…).

Three Things I Regret

  1. Saying things I shouldn’t have – especially in anger or frustration
  2. Missed opportunities
  3. Wasted time

Yesterday’s cryptic post? Don’t worry, I won’t keep you guessing for long. And, on another note, I’m getting really close to the 2,000th comment… Now, we all know what that means. Yep, free yarn. The person that leaves the 2000th comment will receive a skein of plucky yarn.

I hear ya on the obscure info. I seem to know who every actor was once or currently married to and bits of trivia on every tv show out there.

But believe me, I do everything I can to not listen to my father (or mother).

michelle on March 19, 2008 at 9:39 am.

Your Three Things were seriously cool to read. I need to do a list like that.

Mindy on March 19, 2008 at 9:41 am.

carol is so pretty i could cry. I love oranges. I do not however love rodents, they scare the bejeesus out of me.

mai on March 19, 2008 at 9:56 am.

ooh i love that bag! bright accessories are one of my weaknesses!

Wannabe on March 19, 2008 at 10:05 am.

You crack me up with the bananas! LOL!

I LOVE that Max bag. You have one in another color of that brand too right? Like a teal or something?

Nicole on March 19, 2008 at 10:19 am.

I used to sit in the hallway and watch Dallas on Friday nights. I was told I was too young and it was on too late. Because my mom always left the door open to my room, there wasn’t any sound as I jumped back and forth to my room if I ever heard them moving around.

Veronique on March 19, 2008 at 10:25 am.

That is one lovely handbag! And the yarn is too :)
Hey, I have a Zeiss scope in my desk too, but I work in a lab. What’s your excuse?

Jodi on March 19, 2008 at 10:30 am.

I’m with you on the rodents and raw meat. UGH!

My guess is that you’re ditching Etsy and building a new online store. If so, good luck!

Britt on March 19, 2008 at 10:32 am.

Teh bag isn’t really my color, but my sister would fall head over heels for it. The yarn, though, is definitely my color. GORGEOUS!

stinkerbell on March 19, 2008 at 10:37 am.

Incredible tastes you have there… and I have tickets to Seattle for April. Counting the days till I can go raid me a Nordstroms and Nordstroms Rack!! :)

christine on March 19, 2008 at 10:42 am.

Love that bag, and as I’ve said before I TOTALLY hear you on the anti-banana feelings!

Emily on March 19, 2008 at 11:10 am.

Nice to meet you Carol!

I live in France. Come visit me and we can practice French. :)

Robin Tanis on March 19, 2008 at 11:21 am.

OMG Sarah — What is that gorgeous blue yarn coming out of the bag? Looks like some kind of Manos?

mick on March 19, 2008 at 11:22 am.

I LOVE that bag! The yellow is just so cheerful and wonderful. I’m suffering from major bag envy.

Heather on March 19, 2008 at 11:25 am.

Love the bag. I just moved from Germany to Washington State and I live really close to Tacoma. Thanks for the info about the Soda Bread I will have to try it. It was fun to read all the interesting things about you.

Rachel on March 19, 2008 at 11:36 am.

Very nice meme! I love that NPR show, too, and Frank Sinatra’s one of my faves as well. If you like him, are you familiar with Michael Buble? They’re in the same genre, but Michael’s current. Nice bag, too!

Shawna on March 19, 2008 at 11:38 am.

wow! that is a bright and sunny yellow:o) oh, and i’m with you on the regrets:op

Denise on March 19, 2008 at 11:38 am.

OK, one day is already ‘too long’ for me ;) Do you have any idea how curious I am? I shall be checking in daily with ya. Have a great one.
:-)

Monica on March 19, 2008 at 11:58 am.

Oh, Carol is so pretty, esp with the gorgeous blue Manos!! And on clearance too?! Can’t wait to find out what your big reveal is?!?!?

Helena on March 19, 2008 at 12:08 pm.

I think Jodi might be right. I’ve had the sneaking suspicion you were doing that for a little while now. If so, I wish you luck and if that’s not it, well I still wish you luck with whatever changes are going on.

I just love Frank Sinatra. My fav Sinatra song is “Satisfy Me One More Time.” It’s catchy and fun!

Liesl on March 19, 2008 at 12:10 pm.

Wow, that blue really jumps off the page!

Can’t believe you hate bananas. I love bananas but hate “banana-flavored” things!

Becky on March 19, 2008 at 12:28 pm.

Pretty, pretty bag! And a fun “three things” post, as well. Wondering what “changes” you’ve got in store for us… :)

Dawne on March 19, 2008 at 2:14 pm.

Love the bag! … Looking forward to finding out about the changes! … Wishing for a shop udat soon :)

Nicole on March 19, 2008 at 2:24 pm.

You Have to go to Europe someday!I went a couple of years ago for the first time and honestly fell in love with it :)

Beth K. on March 19, 2008 at 2:35 pm.

I remembered that Yarn Harlot just posted about Soda Bread the other day, so I jumped over there and grabbed that link for you: http://www.sodabread.us/Recipes/sodabreadrecipes.htm
I can’t vouch for any of those recipes (yet), but I _can_ tell you that The Black Rose in downtown GR has kick-awesome soda bread. . .you know, if you’re ever in the neighborhood. :D

LizKnits on March 19, 2008 at 2:38 pm.

Love that bag. I also really like that item on your to-do list, live in a tiny cottage by the sea (or at least stay in one for a while). I think that’a a good one for lots of us. I think I’d like my cottage to be in Ireland or somewhere on the west coast here in the US (but remote).

Stacey on March 19, 2008 at 3:20 pm.

What a great list – I found myself nodding, yep – nervous about airplanes, regret saying things in anger, love pedicures and a farmer’s market – yum!

Karen on March 19, 2008 at 3:21 pm.

I don’t know what’s prettier, the bag or the yarn. They make a good pair.

You could totally learn HTML – it’s not hard at all.

Melissa on March 19, 2008 at 3:42 pm.

LOVE the bag!!

Lolly on March 19, 2008 at 4:05 pm.

Love the list! such fun to read!
we can still be friends even if you hate bananas :) and yeah, HTML is a cinch.

Shannon on March 19, 2008 at 5:21 pm.

What pretty colors – the bag and yarn. I enjoyed your list, very interesting, I agree with you on most things, especially the Europe part. I was so close to going not just once but twice!!! Please please tell us about the change…is today too soon?

Emily on March 19, 2008 at 6:08 pm.

Now you’ve got me thinking all about childhood tv shows! The theme songs will be stuck in my head all night…

Liz Chatwell on March 19, 2008 at 9:37 pm.

First, the bag. Delicious. I am yellow with envy.

Second, the yarn. ‘Nuff said.

Third, I never usually read lists, but I enjoyed this one. Thanks! If you want a great asparagus recipe, let me know. Even my little ones eat it up!!

Finally, I too hate bananas. Did you know that fruit fly larvae live in bananas??? That alone should keep people from eating them!!

Ellen on March 19, 2008 at 10:02 pm.

Such a cute bag – Okay, so does your haircut have a name? ’cause we were talking about cute haircuts the other day, (my haircut girl recently quit, and I need a new do!) and you came up as someone with a great haircut.

Sarah on March 19, 2008 at 10:04 pm.

I can’t stand bananas. I used to think it was the texture, but nope… can’t stand the flavor or scent, either.

Kara on March 19, 2008 at 10:27 pm.

Oooh, the Manos is very pretty. I love that color. I have a thing for blue, though. :)

Amanda on March 19, 2008 at 10:56 pm.

Hi, there…. I’m checking in. Cathching up. And waiting to see what your post meant. I think we’re all waiting with baited breath.

ClaireEJ on March 20, 2008 at 3:02 am.

Amazing colour bag. My Mother would go nuts for it!!

Lisa C on March 20, 2008 at 6:58 am.

Love, love, love, the bag. I may have to run down to my local Nordstroms to check out the clearance rack.

Phoe on March 20, 2008 at 11:14 am.

What a great bag! So cheerful and bright.

Alimysunshine on March 20, 2008 at 3:32 pm.

I ADORE that yarn – the color is simply breathtaking!!
