Not much, but some ~

By | December 12, 2007

Knitting is taking place (one thing about dyeing yarn – it sure does cut into knitting time!).

Although, this first item (an easey peasey hat for Mister C)  has been finished for a while now but I had no pictures to share.  The little guy’s mum just sent me this picture  so I just had to share. Not because the hat is any great shakes (basic roll brim pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts  which, by the way, happens to be the very first knitting book I ever purchased and to this day remains in my top five favorites), but because he is  so darn cute in it!

A little big on his noggin – but he carries it off well, don’t you think?

Le’ Slouch is fini’! Yay! Hear that M? You’ll have a hat to wear in Wisconsin too…..

You may have noticed –  I LOVE knitting hats. What are your favorite hat patterns? In that case, what are your favorite things to knit?   What are your “go to” patterns? An inquiring knitter  would love  to know…..

Next up –  a picture of Le’ Slouch post blocking and a an update on the progress of Flair.

I love that hat! LMKG is such a great book – it’s on my wishlist. I have a friend who has it & I’ve borrowed it so often from her & I really should buy my own copy.
I haven’t knit too many hats. I love the idea of them but I used to be bogged down by seaming them up – I’m a horrible, horrible(can’t stress it enough) seamstress. That is until I finished an Odessa a week or so ago. I started it the night before Thanksgiving & I think I finished it a week later. Now that I’ve discovered circulars & hats, I will be attempting more of them for sure!

The hat is very cute…but the subject is sooo cute! Yes, he pulls the hat off very well. I will have to pick up that book. I always hear how great it is.

My fave hat patterns atm are Le Slouch (with slightly less slouch) and Flicker, a beret pattern by Kim Hargreaves (again, with less slouch!). I’m about to start Gretel so we’ll see how that one goes…

Mister C looks adorable! Love the colours.

He sure is looking darn cute !
And I’m sorry to tell you but I never EVER wear a hat ! A hat looks horrible on me, no matter what style or shape, really !

So adorable!! I think LMKG was my second book (I think Weekend Knitting was my first) – and I’ve knit lots from it too. It’s a great book.

My favorite knit is socks. When I’m can’t pick a pattern, I just do a generic ribbed sock. I’m to the point now where I don’t need an actual pattern for those. :)

LMKG was the first ever knitting book I owned. My mom bought it as a present for me right after I started knitting for helping her with her move. LOVE.

My fav thing to knit are socks right now. I also like things like wrist warmers and baby stuff.

I really need to knit more hats…I liked the Meathead pattern by Larissa Brown A LOT because it was super fast and you can embellish it however you want to make it different from everyone else’s. Who wants the SAME hat anyways? :)

I love that little rolled brim hat. What yarn did you use on that?

I knitted Foliage from the fall knitty in under 24 hours. It was so much fun, and I love that the pattern can be done in bulky or worsted weight. The hat is so wearable, I definitely recommend it.
