It’s Giving Me A Headache ~
By Sarah | November 2, 2007
It really should not be this hard. It’s embarassing, really….. knitting the Dublin Bay socks and I am ready to start the heel, except I am utterly, completely and totally confused.
I’ll figure it out, eventually. I think. Has anyone else knit these on two circulars and had trouble starting the heel?
BTW – calling these my Sedona socks. Mr. Plucky, Plucky Girl, C and I are all headed to AZ a week from tomorrow. Couldn’t be more excited! (I am giddy with excitment about all the knitting I can get done!!!).
So, because of said trip, I will be dyeing lots and lots of yarn up tomorrow. A real bumper crop…… and it will have to hold us all over for a while, because the next available dyeing date will not be until November 30. (Also, if you have a custom order that will be dyed tomorrow).
Look for a shop update sometime late Sunday or Monday. Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!

Oh, I hate rearranging sts for the heel! And the mental gymnastics involved in figuring out exactly what sts are on “needle 3″ when you’re using magic loop or 2 circs is quite exhausting (and frustrating). However, once you’ve figured it out, it will seem obvious! Good luck

Maybe if no one has done these…email the pattern writer? They are usually really helpful…or post on Ravelry? I’m sure someone there has done them on 2 circs.
I love the yarn with that pattern!
Can’t wait till next Saturday!
Mwah.

Cool pattern! I don’t have a clue as to how to how to convert to 2 circs–good luck!

I did those socks on 1 circular (magic loop) and I think I just manipulated the sock so that the heel side – between the lacey panels was on one side and just did it that way. HOpe that helps.

Very cool looking socks! I’ve been knitting magic loop socks and I know what you mean…it took me a few times to figure it out too…but what this seems to be telling you is that what you would have done on DPs would be to have 36 stitches on the heel needle and 18 on each of the other two…so, with ML you won’t be rearranging ANYTHING! You will work your heel across the 36 stitches that you already have on there. I frequently have to keep it more simple than my brain wants to make it! Seems too easy huh? But that’s what it tells you! Those socks will rock! Great stuff!
