Completely random ~

First things first. The contest. Well, I’m certainly in good company. So many of you want to master colorwork this year as well. Alright knitters, so where do we begin? Now for the winners of the Color Affection kits~
Sam ~ This year is for steeking. I love colorwork and have yet to do a sweater so this year I will do a version of Paper Dolls and steek something.
and
Lori ~ …. “the best tip i learned was to work with short pieces of wool. i love fair isle but didn’t love untangling all those strands (even two becomes a giant mess quickly). and bobbins were just as bad. so now i cut strands maybe 1 to 2 yds in length and work (holding both in my right, traditionalist here) letting the wool dangle and untangling is a breeze, the strands mostly undo themselves. then, so you won’t be bothered with millions of pieces to weave in you will want to spit splice as you go along.….”
Congratulations Sam and Lori! I have sent you confirmation emails. As soon as I hear from you your kit will be on its way.
Now for the random part of the post:
Watching:
Downton Abbey. The clothes. The house. Bates & Anna. Matthew & Mary. Sigh. Watch it. You’ll be glad you did!
Eating:
Peanut Butter Chicken with cilantro lime rice. A friend recommended this and I’m so glad she did. Couldn’t be easier and what great flavors!
Knitting:

Ships & Seaside Cowl – great stash buster!

Here & There – Plucky Primo Worsted, Medieval & Bisque
Dittany Sprouts – Plucky Primo Worsted, Bisque
What are you watching, eating and knitting?

Thanks for the Peanut Butter Chicken recipe – have to try it. And I just finished the Bandana Cowl and the Westwind and am working on the Takoma.

Today I hate the most delicious tomato soup and my friend gave me the receipe! Knitwise, I’m knitting Andrea’s shawl! I love your two new hats and cowl. The colors of all three are looking so good mixed together!

Your Chicken dish sounds good – must check out the recipe. I’ve been eating Strawberry Sourcream Ice Cream from berries I froze over the summer – super delicious! I’m watching the same thing! I love Downton Abbey – I watched the first series multiple times (including last week). I’m knitting, what else – Color Affection!

Ohh, I love peanut butter chicken and haven’t had it in years. Thanks for the recipe, will give it a try! Your Here & There hat is beautiful!
I’m also watching the second season of Downton and I still love it but I feel like the plot is moving a bit slowly. Every weekend, a friend and I get together and knit while we watch the Forsyte Saga (instant if you have Netflix). I’m knitting the Cladonia Shawl and just had really good pot stickers (dumplings) with stir fried savoy cabbage and snow peas in a sauce. Ironically enough (or not) I was hosting a Downton Abbey party tonight. We had bangers and mash with a side of kale and banana bread for dessert. Also many gin and tonics. I love the new season!
