A rant about shoes…..

Something you may or may not know about me – I am just a  smidge  picky – ok, more than a smidge. Especially when it comes to shoes. So when I set out to purchase a pair of espadrilles or to be more precise, peep toe wedge espadrilles, I had no idea how difficult this was going to be.

Shoes shown above – all gorgeous shoes that I would be completely thrilled to wear but for a  few issues. I mean I love heels as much as the next gal, but I can’t tell you how hard it is to find a great wedge, peep toe or espadrille right now that is not:

  1. sold out
  2. sporting such an incredibly high heel so as to  induce a major nose bleed or trip and fall incident, which I don’t need any help with. I can do that all  by myself, completely flat footed.  (1 inch to 2.5 inches would be perfect).
  3. not meant for  wearing by my Grandma Bev (she had a thing for espadrilles and looked really cute in them) i.e. the  ”older” set. And just to be sure  not to offend  - by that I mean someone in their 80′s or 90′s.
  4. or meant for someone that is under 5′ 7″

It’s not just been knitting and dyeing on the brain and keeping me up nights  - I have had shoes on the brain (don’t get me started about the outfit to wear to an upcoming wedding)  taunting me. So, the search continues….. (I’ll probably just end up wearing flip flops from Summer 2004. But, don’t worry M.F. and B.S. – I promise I won’t wear the flip flops to the wedding, wouldn’t want to embarrass the family).

I did tried on the two BR espadrilles you mentioned..unfortunately they’re not as comfy as I thought. I do love them though, especially the black one. The MK Bleeker is cute too. Very classic.

they all look lovely, but don’t mention shoes to me..I have one foot that is half size smaller and find it very difficult get shoes that fits properly. I walk and one shoe slips off and gets left behind…blah :)

I was going to bemoan the lack of peep toe espadrilles too, but then clicked on the Piperline link from Wannabe. *wow*

Love these shoes. Have you found any that are available that you like?

Have you tried Zappos on line? They are a shoeholics wet dream. And their overnight shipping and RETURN shipping are free. That’s right F-R-E-E. Pick all you like. They’ve got more.

Blessings!

I completely agree – I have tried so many stores and I have now given up. I will check Zappos and Piperline. I know Zappos is great they are very service oriented.
