Green for the gams~
January 26th, 2010 by Sarah

Not sure what’s possessed me but I’ve decided that my life and wardrobe will not be complete until I knit myself a pair of leg warmers. Really, how cute would these be peeking out from under your jeans? Or the tops of a pair of boots with a skirt? And, warm. Talk about warm. As anyone who lives in the Midwest knows, we have at minimum (wishful thinking going on here) two more months of serious winter weather. At least. So there. That’s me justifying leg warmers.
That being said, if you happen to see me sporting them ala’ Flashdance or Olivia Newton-John in her Let’s Get Physical video, you have my permission to give me a good smack.

Hmm, I want a pair of these (CA girl here) just to hang out at home in. It’s…a little chilly here, sometimes. BUT, more importantly, which of your lovely yarns are you using so I can buy myself some tonight?

Ooo thanks for the pattern I hadn’t seen that one. I love leg warmers to wear at home and out to work. Unfortunately I bought mine this year because the winter is very very short. Just did not believe i would get them done along with christmas knitting when the cold snaps came. I was very happy I did buy them because none of my pants fit just my capris so they saved me on those cold mornings. Leg warmers are back in and have been in for awhile in Japan. Wear those babies!

Oh yeah baby, you baby-sat my kids (who were your age) in hot pink leg warmers, green is better. You were so cool. Leg warmers peaking out of the tops of boots with tights and (short) skirt???? You are hittin’ the trends. (Your 80’s are showing!!!)

These are great! And now.. I’m scouring legwarmer patterns. At least I’m in the Midwest and know that even if I don’t start them for two weeks, I’ll have plenty of time to knit and wear them. Hmph. I’m so ready for spring I could spit!
And that green? GORGEOUS.

I was never a “green” person until I started knitting and am amazed at how much I love the color now. I think it’s because my jr. & high school colors were both green and white and it took me forever to love that color!
Plus, you can always use them next year!

Love the color. I’ve been thinking of making some for myself for a while. Thanks for the push.
