Simple Things Saturday & Eye Candy Friday …………… Or A 2 for 1 Post~
By Sarah | May 2, 2009

Simple things I’m loving this first Saturday of May:
- Instant, I kid you not, coffee from Starbucks. They were handing out samples by the fist-full in London, we gave it a twirl and have now not been without it since our return home. Now, not that this will replace fresh brewed always, but sometimes you just don’t have the time.
- Movie night out with Bob and Shelbie.
- Started a new project, another Melody Shawl in my 2ply cashmere (sadly, the Dyson at my other Melody shawl and I have to say, of all the knitted projects I’ve completed this ranks right up there amongst the most used/wearable). Which brings me to – are you on Ravelry? Silly question this may be as it seems everyone and their brother, sister and aunt 12 times removed is on Ravelry, but I’m just making sure. If you’re not, you should be. Have you joined The Plucky Knitter Group? Because, from May 1 tto July 31 we’re having a Lace-Along KAL. Here’s all the info. Won’t you join us (It must be said, the TPK Group is a collection of some of the most lovely, generous and talented knitters you will ever come across)?
- Sam and his endless fascination/obsession with balloons. Insane and hilarious.

The boy can jump.

What I’m not loving this Saturday:
- Car repairs. Or, more specifically, the fact that my car is as dead as they come. Dead as in, needs a new engine dead (how is this possible? The car is only 6 years old?!?!). Dead as in sell it for parts/scrap metal dead. Which means it looks as though Mr. Plucky and I have just become a one car couple. That’s ok (at least that’s what I’m telling myself) I think we are going to try it this summer and see how it goes.
Now for eye candy (courtesy of Shelbie, of course) her Secret Garden collection:

Ooh, I’m totally up for the lace KAL! That is one cute frisky dog, by the way.
Bummer about the car… I just put another $700 into our ’01 Malibu on Thursday.
Paul and I shared one car for 6 years, and it wasn’t too bad. That said, we live in a very busy urban environment with lots of public transit and plenty of cafes / grocery stores / coffee shops within walking distance. It’s worth a try! I am, however, thrilled to have my very own Jeep now.

I’m so sorry about your shawl, but I’m guessing the replacement shawl will be even better.
Starbucks instant? Who knew? I admit that I no longer frequent Starbucks because NY has suddenly gotten an influx of all these wonderful local roasters. We’re even getting Stumptown! One can never have too much great coffee, I think.
Happy weekend!

Wow, great dye job on the pink yarn, it is so incredibly vibrant. I hope to one day dye yarn that bright!

Really excited for the lace KAL. I’m so excited to knit with my “Bethie” 2-ply cashmere.
Sam’s balloon obsession is so cute. I love how fun dogs are.
Shelbie’s photos are absolutely gorgeous.

I love so many of your daughter’s pictures, but whoa- the one with the legs dangling from the top is totally freaking me out. it turns my stomach- in a way that i hope that the person is ok (an emotional response). i’m preggo- so maybe that is why? great stuff.
