Moon, we need to come to an agreement ~

October 24th, 2008 by Sarah

The fact that Moon loves the yarn comes as no surprise. I mean cats have been playing with yarn for centuries, right? But, the cashmere Moon? Could you please, please leave the cashmere alone?

In an effort to reach an agreement with our newest feline resident, I’ve kept a tangled skein for him to play with, but the other tangles – they are up for grabs!! Some of you love to untangle yarn – a yarny stress relief for some of you. Or, others of you may simply choose to look at and/or pet the yarn. Either way, it’s yours!

What do you need to do? Just leave me a comment and I’ll pick three names on Monday and announce the winners (I also have a skein of 100% Silk Worsted in a tangle). So, tell me something. Anything. What are you knitting? What are you cooking? What’s your favorite movie? Favorite hand knit?

Look forward to hearing from you…. have a happy weekend!

Sarah! How are you? So, it’s fall and we are in major soup mode. I think we will be trying a tuscan pumpkin white bean soup tomorrow night. I have time to detangle cashmere yarn……

  2. Terrie Says:

Moon is adorable! Too bad she’s playing with the cashmere! I’m knitting the Diagonal Lace Scarf right now…possibly a Christmas gift?

  3. Tuulia Says:

I am knitting my first najavo-plied handspun – it’ll be the Tomten Jacket for me. I think I’m in love with the yarn :) )

And I love to untangle yarn! It’s very relaxing :)

  4. Becky Says:

Oooh! I’m waiting for my second little one to make an appearance within the next few weeks. I’d love to have some tangled yarn to take my mind off the discomfort of being 8 months pregnant! :)

  5. Copesettic Says:

OK – I am knitting a skein of your cashmere, and the new kitties keep hearing “No! Not the cashmere! Nooooo…” I wouldn’t pick the cheap stuff either if I were them :)

  6. Cynthia Says:

I’m knitting with some TPK 2-ply cashmere, which I love! I don’t cook too much but I go to the farmers’ market every week and buy veggies and fresh cheese. I saw a recipe for vegan mac and butternut squash that I think I’ll try this weekend.

  7. weetsie Says:

Moon has excellent taste. I am curious as to what *her* tangled skein is? I use the same tactic with my kids, they each have a little bag of “their wool” so they don’t get into my knitting or spinning, and they love to “knit” their own. :-)

  8. Susan Says:

Ooh. . . I’m working on my first sweater right now, and searching for the right vacation knit. It may be a Clapotis in recycled laceweight, or it may be worsted-weight toddler socks, or it may be both!

  9. barefoot rooster Says:

oooh, gorgeous. i’m working on some gift cowls, and bribing myself with the idea of my very own cowl out of the yarn i detangled (with the dog’s help) from one of your earlier contests! perhaps lightning can strike twice?

  10. Jen C. Says:

I’m down for a challenge and not allergic to cats!

Right now I’m finishing up one sweater and in the beginning stages of another one.

  11. Judy Says:

Hi, Could you tell me what pattern the scarf is on your gallery customer page ? Thanks so much , Judy ~~~

  12. Liesl Says:

I’m willing to tackle a tangle if it involves such lovely yarn! Moon is such a cutie – how can you argue with a face like that?! (p.s., love, love, love the Florin!!!)

  13. Liesl Says:

p.p.s. forgot to leave a note on what I’m knitting – I’m just finishing up a purple Loppem sweater – lovely finished product, but the pattern drove me crazy with the amount of errata – pics will be on Ravelry soon

  14. Marisol Says:

    Hi There,

Your new kitty is gorgeous! I hear that dogs love to play with yarn too..not just cats. I have a friend that has a huge bag of yarn all tangled up in a mees her yorkshire terriers made!

These yarns are gorgeous -particularly the brownish amber one-Swoon… I can see a shawl emerging from it:)

  15. christine Says:

My friend’s cat only liked Koigu, wouldn’t touch antyhing else. I’m glad to see Moon has good taste! I’m plugging through all my gift knits and hten onto something just for myself.

  16. sara b Says:

I’m up to the challenge of untangling yarn. I’ve never knit with lace weight and I keep missing your shop updates!

  17. Ellie Says:

Oh, what a cute cat. Cats and knitting just go together. I’m working on a sweater to wear around the house in Beaverslide Dry Goods aran weight (lovely, rustic, yet soft yarn).

  18. Valerie Says:

It was really nice to meet you this weekend at Rhinebeck! I’ll take some to detangle if you still need someone!

  19. catnrabbits Says:

    Okay…. Something.
Snicker, I couldn’t resist. I’m now working on the second of my favorite socks EVER. The Charades in Plucky The Gang’s All Here. Luckily my kitties all behave themselves around the yarn. My problem is them vying with the knitting for room on my lap. All my projects have a generous amount of cat hair woven in for extra warmth.

  20. embee Says:

i always up for de-tangling! i’m knitting Toasty.

  21. Sara Says:

I would LOVE to untangle some cashmere – my dog loves to play with yarn and I have had plenty of practice!

I am currently test knitting up my first ever pattern for some (partially lace) fingerless gloves – and I would happily start again with some of your lovely yarn!

  22. gia Says:

Are you sure that Moon doesn’t have an evil twin? That face looks totally innocent!

…and I am still trying to decide which skein to use for my first Plucky project.

  23. stinkerbell Says:

I’d untangle florin in a heart beat!

and as for the something… I want to go home. I am so cold in my office that has the AC ON!!! that I finally got off my arse and bought the gretel pattern to make a ha, that and the february baby sweater are on my weekend (along with a return trip to Upstate/Rhinebeck area :) ).

  24. Kim (Matlie) Says:

Send it on over this way! I’ll untangle for hours for one of your skeins!

  25. Jana Says:

I would love to detangle some yarn!! I agree about it being relaxing and also feeling that you really accomplished something when you are done.
I am currently working on my first pair of pomatomus socks. I am loving them!

  26. Indiecita Says:

So pretty – totally worth any detangling effort. What a nice idea.

I love chick flicks – When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, also BBC chick flicks like Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre. (For a change of pace, School of Rock always cheers me up).

  27. Maggie Says:

We just got a new kitten last weekend and, unlike his big sister, he has *not* learned yet about the dire consequences of playing with Mommy’s yarn. I’m getting practically no knitting done

  28. Brenda Says:

    Hi Sarah
I didn’t get anything on the last update, so if the only way to ’score’ your yarn is to untangle – I’m up for that! And, you know – Moon just has to have fun – and why mess with merino when there’s cashmere? Moon has good taste!

  29. knitography Says:

So pretty! One of my dogs mistook a skein of yarn for food, so I’ve learned to keep it out of reach or suffer the consequences!

  30. Amber Says:

Ooh, kitteh haz gud taste! I am close to finishing my scarf in Miracle cashmere lace, woot! I love, love, love this yarn and am so happy to have found a great indie dyer with such great yarns to tempt me to try something new. I’m up for a detangling challenge.

  31. Amanda Says:

Sarah, PLEASE PLEASE don’t let him play with yarn! I have a cat who looks just like Moon and he had a very expensive run in with string when he was a year old. He swallowed some and it got stuck and needed to be surgically removed to the tune of almost $2000. Even if you think he’s not going to eat it, if he gets some in his mouth and it goes down his throat, he will just keep swallowing because that’s the only thing they can do… it’s very dangerous. I wouldn’t want to hear about your adorable Moon getting into that kind of trouble. I know they get into things – they are cats after all… I now keep all my yarn in closed bins in a room that stays closed or in plastic bags in my closed knitting bag (no open baskets for me). It feels terrible to have a pet become ill due to something that could be prevented :(

  32. Heather Says:

    Hi Sarah,
So we have no little pets in our house, but we have a little 3 year old cutie that loves to tangle yarn, although she calls it knitting. She sits right down on the sofa next to me with her own reserved skein of yarn and just one needle, and proceeds to knit (make knots over and over on that one needle). I can hardly wait until she’s old enough for me to really teach her how to knit.

  33. Renee Says:

Oh, True Love! I happily untangle yarn and enjoy doing it. Moon looks like he’s a very handsome fellow.

  34. Tana Says:

I am knitting a shawl for myself using Socks that Rock lightweight – I’ve heard so much about this yarn and have finally bought some, and I must confess, I am very much enjoying knitting it up!

  35. Keana Says:

can I have the cat & the yarn? LOL

  36. mick Says:

Let’s see: right now, I’m knitting three things: Jason’s engagement sweater, my wedding shawl, and a CPH for myself. Hopefully I’ll finish one of them just in time to detangle some yarn!

  37. Deb Says:

I love to untangle yarn…I think there is a zen to the process. It helps me to sort out life in general as I slowly turn the yarn back into order. My cat likes me to think she’s going to turn my yarn into tangles but she always stops after mouthing whatever I’m working on–as if to remind me that’s she’s still in charge and if she’s not happy, she’ll wreck havoc. Right now, I’m working on a sweater for my granddaughter to be!

  38. Jane T. Says:

I was sad to miss the most recent update b/c I was teaching a community ed sock knitting class. I’ve not been able to get any Plucky yarn yet :(

I’m knitting a few last small items (socks, shawl) before I go into into high-gear holiday knitting mode. I also love a good untangle.

  39. krysten Says:

I’m pretty sure that True Love would like to come and live with me…

I can’t believe how big Moon Unit is getting. So different from those first few pics of him.

I’m currently knitting up my test run of my newest pattern – the Love Bites scarf.

as far as cooking or doing anything else? well…i’m too busy being obsessed with vampire novels to do much more than read! ;-)

  40. Sandra Says:

What a beautiful kitty although sadly I’m allergic to cats. I like rolling yarn into balls and don’t mind untangling so much either. There’s something relaxing to me about those process. I have to be so focused that it takes my mind off everything else. Happy weekend!! Sandra

  41. chelsea Says:

oh, silly cat. he does have excellent taste, tho. I am presently trying to finish up several wipsss, in preparation for a little baby soon to come, and just wrapped up my first lace project ever, which is quite thrilling!

  42. Sarah Says:

I actually enjoy untangling yarn, very therapeutic . . . as long as I am not in a hurry or have a deadline. Then I can’t undo tangles to save my life. So far my cat is keeping away from the yarn, the needles on the other hand are apparently irresistible. I find them with tiny teeth marks and scattered all over the house.

  43. melissa Says:

aww, your cat looks like my cat. what a cutie.

and….right now, i’m knitting some mittens for my friend’s birthday. nothing too exciting!

  44. Chrissy Says:

I would love to take on the challenge of your tangled yarn. My kitty tried that in the beginning. He now has a ball of the dreaded Red Heart that he happily scampers across the living room with.

I am working on a pair of Duckies with your Marmalade Skies in MCN sport and they are creamcicle-icious! :)

  45. Rachel Says:

I like untangling as long as my kids don’t ‘help’. Knitting a pair of Mad Color Weave socks and a hat for my daughter. Cooking lots of things with pumpkin – BIG fat cookies with chocolate chips and waffles. Favorite movie is Undercover Blues – I don’t even understand why anymore but I will gladly watch it anytime.

  46. Laurel Says:

I adore your kitty! I have just purchased my first 2 skeins of Plucky yarns… and I love them both. Can’t wait to cast on!

  47. Rosa Says:

I would kill for that skein of florin…ok…maybe not “kill”. I’ll just smack them around with a skein of acrylic yarn! lol

  48. Barb Collins Says:

    I don’t mind de-tangling. I love your yarns.

  49. Terry Says:

I have my own Moons (midnight kitties) at home. The little one, Snowball, loves to eat yarn–unfortunately, this isn’t good for her. We had a bit of an episode with my first ever skein of Idyll MCN. While I was busy reading the pattern for a new cowl project, Snowball had eaten about 6″ of the MCN. I ended up having to take her to the emergency clinic to make sure there weren’t any complications as a result of her big yarn appetite. The vet induced vomiting and sure enough, there was the MCN! Luckily Snowball is fine, and the cowl, well, it still needs to be grafted.

  50. Kate Says:

What a fun idea :) I have a kitty too, who’s only interested in yarn when it’s being wound. Which makes the rest of my yarn relatively safe!

  51. Michelle Says:

I’m currently applying to college! While considering what to write for my essay, I, of course, thought of knitting. I wrote a short little essay, mainly about my first hat (which I gave to one of my best friends and she never wears). I plan to include pictures of my friends, swathed in hand-knitted goodness! Besides that, I’m working on the sleeves of my second sweater. The work is slow, but hopefully I’ll be finished in time for the recipient’s birthday. If not, there’s always hanukah. Good luck with the kitty,
    Michelle

  52. Diana-NYC Says:

Hi there – Glad to hear that you enjoyed Rhinebeck — near my neck of the woods. Would love to untangle the yarn to start my first-ever lace project. Absolutely beautiful kitty. And yarn!

  53. Annie Says:

Right now I am knitting a trick or treat bag and a bat for my little one for halloween.

Next up, well, if I had yummy yarn like those I might knit something for myself! I could stand to do some untangling!

  54. Whistlepea Says:

I’m knitting some mermaid fingerless gloves.

  55. Carolyn Says:

Man, offer some free yarn and there are tons to choose from. I’m a bit compulsive and like to “win” so untangling yarn is right up my alley, no problems at all. Have a great weekend!

  56. Alicia Says:

Me please – those yarns are gorgeous! I LOVE your kitty! She has great taste. :-)

I am getting ready to cast on Knitspot’s Autumn Arbor Stole in some pretty pine and gold silk lace. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Happy Knitting!

  57. Michelle Says:

Oh, the poor yarn, bad kitty!! but so cute. I’m working on the second Charade sock in Palatial for the KAL. Will have it done by the deadline, one way or the other.

  58. Jill Says:

cats are so stunkin’ cute. mine only likes Noro yarn — wierd. he better leave my Plucky yarn alone!

  59. little.one Says:

I want to use some of my Plucky yarn for some fingerless mitts. It’s just that the pattern I want to use only comes in Finnish.

What a very cute, but very bad, kitty.

  60. Marla Says:

Hi Sarah, I am on my 2nd Charades sock in Bewilder. I knit it on the plane to and from Boulder for family weekend. The compliments were many. I tied a mini skein of alpaca to a chop stick to play with our newest cat, an orange tabby rescue named Garfield. I am not making soup these days as the temperature in Santa Monica is in the mid 80’s. It is very generous of you to allow Moon to play with the yarn. Or is it the other way around and she indulges you by playing with yarn?

  61. Knit Pickins Says:

Moon, you are adorable! Come play with Scooter. He loves yarn, too!

I am currently working on (and failing) fending off evil squirrels, who are eating my pumpkins.

Tonight’s knitting is a striped beanie in school colors.

  62. diane Says:

He has such lovely eyes it would be hard to get mad at him. He also has very good taste in yarn! I love to untangle so thank you to Moon.

  63. Jennifer Says:

I’m knitting the Hemlock Ring blanket for my grandma for Christmas (that is if my dog will keep away from the yarn log enough for me to finish it in time). I’d love to untangle (and pet) some cashmere.

  64. Laurie Says:

Dear Moon…won’t Sam let you know with him instead?? Oh wait…if you do, then we don’t get a chance to score the tangled yarn. Nevermind! :-) Right now I’m knitting some b’day scarves, a Gathered Scarf & a Butterfly Lace Stole/Scarf. I gifted a precious skein of Plucky to a new friend & she’s also knitting a scarf. Hmmm, favorite movie? I go from Shawshank Redemption (cry at the last scene every time!) to anything Jane Austen. Cooking? Maybe this weekend some Oven-Baked Apple Pancake? Favorite hand-knit? Tough choice because I put a lot of time & love into picking colorways/patterns (read: lately all my knitting has been gifts!). I even order WOVEN craft labels from overseas for an extra-special touch. Hoping to get loads of knitting done next week since I’ll be taking care of a friend’s 19 & 20 year old dogs!!!!!! (I wanna bring our dogs over, hoping they can breathe in some-o-that longevity air. We can’t figure out what else it could be!!!) THANKS MOON! (& Sarah!!) :-)

  65. Meadow Says:

What a beautiful kitty! I can’t blame him at all for going after your yarn ;) .

I’m working on a pinwheel blanket, why didnt’t anyone talk sense into me when I said I was going to make it adult sized for my grandma? Because I don’t think it will ever end, sigh! And let’s not mention the fingerless mitts that at 90% done but I can’t bring myself to finish, slacker. Or the socks that I can’t seem to love :( I’m thinking it’s time for a new project, hehe.

  66. Liz419 Says:

I’m in love with True Love! (I only wish I could find it in real life!) Your cashmere is wonderful. I’ve been wearing the scarf I knit from your Merlot. The pattern is Anne Hanson’s Gust. I just love the feel of cashmere around my neck! I wanted to show it off to you at YarnCon. I was disappointed you didn’t make it there. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to show it to you in the future!

  67. Naomi Says:

Moon looks so innocent but we all know about the innocent looking ones!

I’ve got major startitis, like Harlot, but I’m working on homework, fair isle xmas stockings, a new pattern by Ruth etc, etc!

Hope you are well and not working too much!

  68. Janet Says:

What a zen thing to untangle yarn. I am working on a February Lady Sweater, a beret, a lace ribbon scarf, and finishing up a bag to felt for a friend. I am cooking up some take out specials and I just dropped my husband off at the airport for a 10 day business trip to Berlin. He has orders to look for yummy yarn for me there…

  69. Monnie Says:

I’m so sorry about the yarn and the kitties! I have to keep all of mine hidden, but he’s got an uncanny way of ferreting out the good stuff…

I’ve been trying to knit Peacock Feathers, but let’s face it… a 90-hour workweek doesn’t leave much time for anything else except for, well, sleeping! -laugh-

  70. Gail Says:

    Sarah and Moon,
Right now I am working on an adorable pink baby blanket for me soon-to-born granddaughter. It is the Petals Blanket pattern that I picked up the last time I was in Seattle at Hilltop Yarns.

Untangling yarn is really relaxing and satisfying for me!

    :)

  71. Kara Says:

Those are some lovely tangles you’ve got there. Moon Unit has good taste. :)

I’m currently knitting a pair of fingerless mitts for work so I can keep warm in my chilly office. And a toddler sweater. And a couple pair of socks. And a Kara sized sweater. And a scarf.

I don’t knit just one thing at a time, obviously. :)

  72. liz Says:

Wow…that is a serious tangle which I will look forward to unravelling!! I’m working on Ingenue in Custom Knits, but I’m itching to cast on some more fingerless mitts…

  73. miukat Says:

I knit my pumpkin latte yarn into a mini-sock keychain this week. It was making me so hungry I had to make pumpkin pie before I continued knitting. So there you have it. Mini-socks and pie. Perfect together.

  74. Lara Says:

My favorite knit is one I just completed – Cassidy from Chic Knits. I love it! I also love to untangle yarn. I really just enjoy the challenge – even though it is frustrating!

  75. Pharmgirl147 Says:

oooh, those are purty! Your cat has good taste ;) I am currently knitting a pair of zombies in Yarn Zombie’s Radioactive superwash merino, a pair of lotus socks in knitpicks inspirations looking glass, and a eunny jang deep v argyle vest in black/oatmeal/lime green random patons. I recently made my brother home made pizza with some fancy schmancy garlic salami from the cute little italian deli near where I work. My favourite fall movie to watch is The Rocky Horror Picture Show, especially when I’m watching it with someone who doesn’t mind if I sing along off key :D .

  76. mfrey Says:

    favorite movie????
    2 words, “James Bond” (nov.l4)

  77. Nancy K. Says:

Why do I need to untangle yarn?
I just finished reading the latest Maeve Binchy novel and have completed the first pair of socks I ever knitted for my husband – nothing to do now but think of what to do next!
ps. just love to buy some of that yarn but your etsy shop is empty of it.

  78. Emily Says:

I’m pretty sure my kitty would help me with the detangling! In the cooler months, when she is addicted to lap-sitting and bed-snuggling to keep warm, we describe her as “sticky” since she seems totally stuck to us! You can even push her, and she stays stuck where she lays, and WONT get off. It’s rough for knitting.

  79. Jackie Says:

    I’d love to untangle!

Right now I’m working on the sleeve of a sweater for my neice and I’m searching for a fingerless mitts pattern to cast on for soon. Even though I live in Florida, my steering wheel gets SO cold and once my hands get cold it’s hard for me to warm up!

  80. Lisa Says:

    I will delurk for tangles!

  81. Chris Says:

One of the resident felines here goes absolutely crazy for wool with that sheepy/lanolin smell (I think) so much so I have to take it with me when I leave the room-yes there have been tangled yarns liberally satutated with cat slobber!

  82. Gwen Says:

Hi Sarah, I’ll never forget the day our black toy poodle, Katie Scarlett, got into my knitting and managed to get the yarn wound all around her body to the point where she couldn’t move. Needless to say, I’ve been very careful since. By the way, Moon is a gorgeous kitty!

  83. Lori in Michigan Says:

OH, my GOODness…that Florin just swoons me! Today? Baking/Cooking…and just finishing off a hot fudge brownie sundae. Ghiradelli Triple Chocolate brownies (the best) topped with a scoop of Kroger Premium Double Vanilla Ice cream and my homemade hot fudge sauce….hmm…trade ya my hot fudge recipe? Okay…the silk worsted would be fine, too…ha!

  84. Anna Says:

My husband is very good at untangling yarn. Once he untangled a terrible mess our cats made out of laceweight alpaca, they took it around the kitchen table and chairs. And he did that all before I woke up.
    Knitting: Durrow sweater for Hubby
Eating: Butternut squash bisque for the last three days because it`s that good.

  85. moonlitbeach Says:

I must be insane because I find untangling yarn to be relaxing and satisfying.

I just got an amazing “Learn to Knit” package in a Rav SnobSwap! I’m soon to try that lovely Plucky mini-sock prize from Rhinebeck. Thanks, Sarah!

  86. moonlitbeach Says:

Oh, I forgot to say — one of the yarns in the learn to knit package was Plucky 100% BFL Superwash in Margie!

  87. Kari Says:

If I’m chosen for a tangle, I’m going to untangle it, reskein it, and then destash it on Rav – along with a few other skeins that I’ve decided to donate with all the $$ going to Susan G. Komen For The Cure – in honor of my grandmother, my mother and all other breast cancer patients.

Perhaps a shameless plug for charity, but my boobies made me do it. :)

  88. Shameka Says:

I am knitting the Crofter’s Cowl and the Mystery Sock from Through the Loops this week as my “travel knitting”. My home knitting is my second Central Park Hoodie that I am so close to finishing. I am baking a red velvet cake. I am looking forward to untangling that yarn!

  89. Carrie L. Says:

Oooo, tangled yarn – cool. Let’s see, my favorite movie is the Princess Bride.
Mom and I are currently at SAFF in North Carolina having a blast. Makes me feel a little better for having missed Rhinebeck.
Hope I win some of the tangled yarn.
All the best – Carrie (also known as Truelove on Rav).

  90. Nicole Says:

Right now I am working on Mitered Mitts with the Plucky Classics Lisa Carol Freemont….so soft :)

  91. Susanne Says:

Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous feline! Please don’t play with the yarn Moon, you might get sick!!! I lost a sister of a pair because she ate some yarn and after two different surgeries, it was not to be!
I am knittng too many things actually, a couple of lace stoles, a sweater and two cowls.

  92. Fuji Mama Says:

I’m cooking pretzel “bones” and bloody cranberry cream cheese dip. :-)

  93. Sarah Says:

My 18-month-old daughter snatches and runs with any skeins or wound balls she can get her hands on. I’ve knit her a little smocked dress (Mae Day) and am planning to start on Anouk…after I get some socks out of the way

  94. Paula Says:

Cats have such a sixth sense. They always want to make friends with a cat-hater and now I find they pick the most high-end yarn to play with. Gotta love’em!

One of my favorite light comedies: Overboard with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. I just revisited it last evening and it always makes me chuckle.

Knitting two sweaters and crocheting one shawl. Contemplating what my Plucky Classic yarn needs to become. Looking forward to my next installment. :-)

  95. Kirsten Barbosa Says:

I’m currently knitting a million (or at least I wish it were a million) cowls for christmas presents. My manx has learned that as long as mommy is knitting, the needles are fair game, the yarn, however, is not.

  96. Kirsten Says:

I just knit a lace scarf with a silk/cashmere blend… it was so delicious.

  97. mrspao Says:

Moon is absolutely gorgeous. I’m knitting a wrapover cardigan in Kidsilk Aura.

  98. Elise Says:

I am knitting the Bell Curve shirt and I think it will fit perfectly! This will be my first knitted apparel item for myself that I think I will actually be pleased with the results. I am wanting to cast on for some socks with my Plucky winnings from the cowel contest.

  99. Elise Says:

I meant to say Bell Curve skirt!

  100. Kai Says:

Ohh that True Love is calling out my name! :)

What can I tell you? Umm.. I made a delicious Lamb Curry last night and tonight it’s going to be homemade Tiramisu… :)

  101. bellium Says:

i’m all for untangling. or, at least, my husband is…

  102. jodi Says:

holy guacamole (that’s my food reference, as I’m more of a re-heater than a cook), no wonder why i can’t score on updates — i clearly cannot leave my computer without missing such fun happenings (though I am sorry your kitty is tangling your lovely yarns, but hey, that cat’s got great taste.)

“The year that Buttercup was born, the most beautiful woman in the world was a French scullery maid named Annette. Annette worked in Paris for the Duke and Duchess de Guiche, and it did not escape the Duke’s notice that someone extradordinary was polishing the pewter. The Duke’s notice did not escape the notice of the Duchess either, who was not very beautiful and not very rich, but plenty smart. The Duchess set about studying Annette and shortly found her adversary’s tragic flaw.

I think my favorite movie (which is also my favorite book) is probably the same as yours. :)

Hi Sarah, I just can’t resist these tangled skeins! Right now I’m knitting a Wisp (after being inspired by the gorgossity of Throughtheloops’s in your yarn) … in the Cat, that lovely purple Plucky Classic from August…

I love to untangle. Right now I am knitting gloves like crazy for Christmas gifts, which is fun, because this is the first time I have knit gloves!

my friends dog did this to a skein of her yarn yesterday! we spent a relaxing half hour chatting and working together to untangle it. Although, I’m really glad it had time to dry from all the boxer slobber :P

  109. Wannabe Says:

Tangled yarn is my bag, baby. Okay, maybe not mine, but Bri’s. Yes. He does it for me. Just like packing, plumbing, satellite connecting, fan fixing, water heater installing etc….which is why I’m knitting nothing and baking nothing too. ;)

Oh I hope I’m not too late! I have always loved to untangle anything! Right now I’m 2/3 of the way done with my super big family Christmas knitting…scarves for the males with a lion embroidered onto it and the circular geisha scarves for the females….I CANNOT wait to be done with them!

  114. Kate Says:

    Am I too late?

  115. Kate Says:

Whoops, I forgot to tell you something. I didn’t get enough sleep last night. Also, I have a stuffed orange octopus. (Worsted silk? Gosh!)

  116. Mandy Says:

Aww, you just can’t be mad at that sweet little face! Such a cutie! As for what I’m doing…. knitting a cowl for my MIL, a scarf for my mom, a clapotis for me (which is being woefully neglected with all of the holiday stitching)…Rereading Polgara the Scorceress for the umteenth time (I like to read while I knit, but wanted something I barely had to concentrate on), and I’ve got to make soup for dinner tonight, since it’s so nice outside! A high temp below 70 in Texas is something to celebrate!!

  117. mai Says:

    oops, am i late? :) i love untangling :)

  118. Susan V. Says:

Well, I’ve got several things going–a top-down raglan that I hope to have done for a trip to Boston next month, a headband to keep my ears warm at my son’s soccer games, and a pair of fingerless mitts (in Miss Dashwood) so that I can knit and not freeze my fingers off at afore mentioned games.

  119. Ashley Says:

Don’tcha just love helpful kitties! I too have come home to a yarn explosion with my can sleeping right in the middle of it! How can you be mad at that little face?!?! LOL!

  120. Ashley Says:

  121. Rachel Says:

Ooo, I hope I win! I love your stuff – it’s so gorgeous! Hmmm, right now I’m knitting a Christmas scarf. Yes, very obvious gift, but it’s Cashmere, which should be a treat to have around the recipient’s neck!
